Septic Service FAQ — Bingham & Bannock Counties
Honest answers to the questions we get most often. No fluff, no upselling.
Most households should pump every 3–5 years. The exact frequency depends on tank size, number of people in the household, and water usage habits. A 1,000-gallon tank for a family of 4 typically needs pumping every 3–4 years. We recommend an annual inspection to monitor sludge levels.
Our flat-rate pricing: $450 for up to 1,000 gallons and $600 for 1,500 gallons. For 2,000+ gallon systems, call us for a quote. Price is confirmed on-site before we start. No hidden fees. Rural mileage fee of $1.50/mile may apply beyond 25 miles from Blackfoot.
Our standard pumping includes: complete tank evacuation, inspection of inlet and outlet baffles, visual inspection of tank condition, check for signs of drain field issues, and a written service report. We also check for any solids or scum that indicate system problems.
Signs include slow drains throughout the house, gurgling sounds from drains or toilets, sewage odors inside or outside, wet or soggy spots in your yard over the drain field, or it's been more than 5 years since your last pump. When in doubt, call us for an inspection.
Yes — 24/7 emergency service is available throughout Southeast Idaho. We answer the phone any time, day or night. An emergency surcharge of $100–$150 applies for after-hours calls. For emergencies, call us directly at (208) 607-3604.
A real estate septic inspection is a thorough inspection of the entire septic system — tank, baffles, distribution box, drain field, and all accessible components. We document everything with photos and deliver a lender-ready PDF report within 48 hours. Required by most lenders for homes with septic systems.
Most residential pumping jobs take 1–2 hours, including setup, pumping, inspection, and cleanup. Larger tanks or systems with access issues may take longer. We'll give you a time window and call when we're 30 minutes out.
We recommend not using any water or drains during the pumping process. This ensures we can completely evacuate the tank and get an accurate inspection. The job typically takes 1–2 hours.
Hydro-jetting uses high-pressure water to clean pipes thoroughly — removing grease buildup, root intrusion, and mineral deposits that snaking can't clear. It's recommended for recurring clogs, slow drains that don't respond to snaking, and commercial properties with grease buildup.
Yes — we use electronic locating equipment to find buried tanks without digging up your yard. Tank locating costs $150–$175 and includes marking the location and providing a diagram for future reference. Required if you don't know where your tank is.
A septic riser brings your tank lid to ground level, eliminating the need to dig every time you need service. This saves time and money on every future pumping. We recommend risers for any tank that's more than 12 inches below ground. Cost is $200–$350 per riser.
Use water efficiently, spread laundry loads throughout the week, avoid flushing anything other than toilet paper, don't pour grease down drains, use septic-safe cleaning products, and have your system inspected annually.
Never flush: wipes (even 'flushable' ones), feminine hygiene products, medications, grease or cooking oil, coffee grounds, cigarette butts, dental floss, cotton balls, or harsh chemical cleaners. These can clog pipes, kill beneficial bacteria, or damage your drain field.
The drain field (leach field) is where treated wastewater from your tank is dispersed into the soil. Signs of failure include soggy or wet areas in your yard, sewage odors outside, slow drains, or sewage backing up into the house. Call us immediately if you notice these signs.
Yes — we offer discounts for seniors (65+) and veterans. Ask about our discount when you call to schedule. We appreciate your service and want to make septic care affordable for everyone in our community.
